I was originally planning on writing about lacrosse and swimming during this post, but I decided that I will wait until the next one because then my team and I will have played several games in this season, which I want to talk about.
Instead, I will be talking about some of the tv shows that I enjoy, such as Doctor Who, Orphan Black, and a few others. Warning: There will be spoilers.

Doctor Who I got into the show, Doctor Who, a few years ago because of one of my friends. Even though she did a horrible job if explaining it to me, I was still was interested in it and started watching right away. That summer I binge watched all that was available of "Classic Who" and started what is considered "New Who". I didn't watch that much during the school year because it was more important for me to do well than to watch Doctor Who. The Doctor is an alien that travels through time and space in his ship that is called the "TARDIS". Whenever he is close to death, he will completely regenerate into a new body and different personality. Since the beginning of Doctor Who, there has been twelve different doctors. The Doctor travels with a companion that he decides to take with him on adventures. Each episode is a dangerous adventure for the Doctor and his companion(s). They typically get in a dangerous situation where they have to save everyone. If you wish to learn more about Doctor Who, you can watch a summary of it here or here. These videos are from before the most recent regeneration of the Doctor, but it does a great job of explaining the show. |
Orphan Black Orphan Black is a show that I started watching this past summer. I found out about it because of a site called tumblr. I was immediately hooked and watched all of it within a few weeks. Season three premires in spring, which is very exciting because a lot of action will happen very quickly, based off of what happened in the season two finale. The main actress in this series,Tatiana Maslany, plays all of the main characters in this tv show, interacting with herself quite often. The first episode starts by showing Sarah Manning talking on the phone and noticing someone who looks exactly like her. This woman then jumps in front of the incoming train, commiting suicide. Sarah steals this woman's purse and finds out her name is Beth Childs and is a cop. Soon after, she finds others that also look exactly like her and the mysterious Beth. She finds out they are all clones and are being monitered. As the story continues, more and more about the clones are revealed. This story is a thriller, a comedy, and filled with action. One of my favorite moments was a scene with Sarah and Helena in the car driving and singing "Sugar, Sugar" by The Archies. I found this scene hilarious because they are having fun together, even though they tried to kill each other earlier in the series. Many people have a favorite clone in this series. I personally do not because I am greatly entertained by all. I think the most adorable (in a childish way) character is the violent serial killer and the scariest character is the soccer mom. Looks like you'll have to watch it to find out what I mean! | |
There are so many interesting tv shows that I could have chosen to talk about, but I chose Doctor Who and Orphan Black because they are hilarious, thrilling, and cute. Without realizing it, I guess it's also becuase they are both:
- From BBC
- And Sci-Fi's
Overall, I absolutely love both of these tv shows and can't wait for their season premieres!
