In this blog post, I plan on talking about the different phases of music that I went through as I grew up and how I change my tastes based on my mood.
Phases of Music
As I was growing up, I found a lot of different music that I really enjoyed, but were completely different from each other. I would hop from country music to classic rock and then back to pop music. I never stayed with one genre for more than maybe a month at a time. Even though I changed what I enjoyed listening to quite often, I still always liked what I previously was obsessed with.

The first phase that I went through that I can recall was the summer going into sixth grade. I was in love with country music that summer and I would pretend that I was a countrygirl on a farm and acted as if the songs were about my life. I would pretend to herd cattle, (which was actually my poor dog), and I also pretended that I was a professional horseback rider (I actually do horseback ride now). I would listen to Rascal Flatts a lot as a child, which was my favorite band back during my country phase. As I became older, I grew out of that and discovered other types of music, such as classic rock. It's quite different from country, but I loved classic rock just as much, maybe even more. |
In middle school, I was a total rocker. I listened to a lot of 80's rock music and one of my favorite movies was "Rock of Ages" because of all the amazing songs. I got into classic rock because my mom would listen to it all the time in the car and I decided to actually listen to the radio with her instead of listening to music through my headphones. I absolutely loved Guns N' Roses, Led Zeppelin, Poison, and many more. I would hop from band to band every once in a while, but I stayed with classic rock until sometime in 9th grade. |
Currently, I have been in a pop punk phase, but I feel like this is what I really enjoy listening to. I connect with the music the most from bands such as Fall Out Boy, Panic! At the Disco, All Time Low, Twenty One Pilots, Paramore, and many more. I love music so much because it is relatable and one can connect with it more. I am constantly listening to music because it really means something to me. Music saved me, in a way. Even as I write this blog post, I am listening to music. The song is currently, "Missing You" by All Time Low (Click title for link to song). It is a song that my friend, Isabella, showed me recently because I was having a bad day and she wanted to cheer me up. Isabella actually introduced me to a lot of my favorite bands because she is amazing at finding music and enjoys sharing it with me.

In the final blog post of the series, I will talk more about my current favorite songs and how it changes quite often that way I don't get sick of it. Plus I just find a new song that I fall in love with quite often. Instead of talking about my favorite song from a certain band or artist, I will talk about my favorite songs in general. I will probably talk about anything else that comes to mind about music that I find worthy to talk about.
Thanks for reading and have a great day!
