In this blog post, I plan on talking about my two favorite bands, Twenty One Pilots and French Cassettes. I want to talk about how I heard about them (seeing as how unknown French Cassettes are), my favorite songs and lyrics, and things like that.
Twenty One Pilots The first song I remember hearing from Twenty One Pilots was "Truce" (Click song name for link). It still is one of my favorite songs because its soft and I find the lyrics really meaningful. It kind of dives into the more mellow side of their music, which I enjoyed to hear at the end of this album. Some of the lyrics are: Stay alive, stay alive for me. You will die, but now your life is free, Take pride in what is sure to die. I think these lyrics are saying to take pride in one's life and to keep living. Tyler Joseph wrote this song because he wanted to tell people to hang in there and that there is someone out there who knows what they're going through. He said, "... but if someone is encouraged at all by the music that I write, then my whole life will be justified. So I mean, I'd be crazy not to try". |
Favorite Songs
My favorite songs from Twenty One Pilots are "Car Radio", and "House of Gold" (Click song name for link). I love the fact that Car Radio is based on a true story. Tyler Joseph's radio got stolen out of his car and he didn't have the money to replace it, so he drove in silence a lot. I can't say exactly why I love those songs, I just do. They just ended up being songs that I felt like I could relate to in some way and I enjoyed the way he made the song.
As for French Cassettes, my favorite song is from their youtube channel and it's called "Sunshine" (click song name for link) from before they were even called French Cassettes. It is a beautiful song that was done in an interesting way. I love everything about this song and it always makes me really emotional. They tie in really powerful lyrics with silly, uncommon instruments to enhance the song.

French Cassettes I was introduced to the French Cassettes by, yet again, Isabella. She has been sharing her amazing taste in music with me recently and I have been falling in love with everything she shows me. The French Cassettes are not very well known so they do not tour. They do occasionally play shows in California, which is where they are from. They also do not have any CDs to buy, but Isabella, the amazing friend she is, burned me a CD with all of their songs (I'm actually listening to it right now). I feel like one day, hopefully soon, they will become extremely famous and start touring so that way I could see them in concert! That is honestly one of my biggest dreams and I really wish I could see them live one day. Maybe I will! One of my favorite memories is dancing to some of their songs with Isabella at three in the morning and then we would collapse, laughing at our horrible dance moves. |
Overall, I absolutely love Twenty One Pilots and French Cassettes. I feel like I could put on a playlist, consisting of only those two bands and still be completely happy with it. I don't feel like these bands are bands that I will ditch and never care about. I recommend looking these two bands up to experience amazing music! Thanks for reading and I hope you have a great day!
