I was assigned a new blog series where I can talk about anything that I wish to talk about. I decided that I want to talk about my favorite music for the next couple of months or so. I hope you enjoy!
First Blog of the Series For the first blog post of this series, I want to talk about who I've been listening to quite a lot lately. My friend, Isabella, told me to listen to James Bay because I wasn't feeling well one day. She knows that music always makes me feel better and knew that I would enjoy his music. The first song I listened to by him was "Move Together". I fell in love with his voice. James Bay instantly became one of my favorite artists because his voice is natural, it's not like some of the artists today who are popular because of how much autotune they use. |
Favorite Songs by James Bay
I'd have to say that my favorite songs by James Bay are "Hold Back the River", "Move Together", and "If You Ever Want To Be In Love". (Click the song name for link)
"Hold Back the River" starts off with just a guitar and his voice, and then other intruments join in, such as the drums, but it remains soft and is a beautiful song. The chorus (my favorite part because of how he sings it) of the song is:
Hold back the river, let me look in your eyes
Hold back the river, so I
Can stop for a minute and be by your side
Hold back the river, hold back
Everytime I hear these lyrics, it sends chills down my spine because he puts so much emotion into this song, and in this part of it. I feel like I connect with him. I can feel his pain as he portrays his feelings for this person while they are on the edge of crying. He is saying to hold back the tears and let me be there for you.
He writes this beautifully and he is different from other artists today who only write about inappropriate stuff. I feel that James Bay is better than more artists now a days because he pours his emotions into his songs and is truly talented.

What I Plan To Write About
For my next blog post, I plan to write about my two favorite bands of all time, Twenty One Pilots, and French Cassettes. I want to talk about how I came across them, my favorite songs and lyrics, and some of my favorite memories involving either of the bands.
As for the third blog post, I plan on talking about my different phases and tastes in music. I love everything that I listen to, and still enjoy the music I used to listen to in the past. In middle school, I loved classic rock, where as now, I enjoy alternative music more. I still love classic rock, but I prefer to listen to other music. I will go more into detail in the third blog post of this series.
For the fourth and final blog post of this series, I plan on wrapping up all my thoughts about everything that I wrote about. I want to also talk about my favorite songs in general, rather than just my favorite songs from James Bay.
I hope you enjoy learning about my favorite music as much as I enjoy writing about it! Thanks for reading and have a great day!
